Glass-Flake Coating Has Been Our Craft Since 1989.

For more than three decades we've focused on one thing: protecting critical assets with glass-flake coating systems we engineer and prove in-house. We work from Miami, the gateway to the world's largest cruise fleet.

Core Mission
Our purpose

We helped pioneer glass-flake coating technology rather than simply adopt it. Since 1989, Polyflake LLC has grown from a specialist formulation business into a fully integrated marine technology group, building many of the glass-flake coating systems the industry now relies on. We develop and manufacture every Polyflake® Coating System resin in-house at our USA production centre, which keeps quality control in our hands from formulation through to application.

We operate three departments: Coating Resins System (proprietary resin production and application for hulls, tanks, piping and equipment), Hydraulic & Mechanical Services (workshop overhaul of hydraulic cylinders and large pump systems), and Marine Contracting & Engineering (on-site turnkey projects for piping, swimming pools, and deck systems).

Since 1992 the job has stayed the same: stop chemical, mechanical and galvanic corrosion with coatings that last, so our clients spend less on maintenance and put less waste into the environment. Our systems shrug off more than 800 aggressive fluids and have held up in constant seawater for over 24 years.

Built to Industry Standards

We're not a box-ticking certificate house. We're specialists who work to the same recognised standards and procedures the industry relies on. Every Polyflake project follows documented, repeatable methods, with traceable materials and full QA records our clients can audit.

NACE / SSPC Standards

We work to NACE and SSPC corrosion-control standards, the globally recognised benchmarks for surface preparation and protective coating. Every project is designed and supervised by experienced engineers.

IMO Environmental Standards

Our marine coating systems are formulated to meet International Maritime Organization environmental requirements, which supports classification society acceptance and flag-state review on commercial and naval vessels.

Documented Quality Process

We run a structured quality process built around documented procedures, traceable materials and verifiable outcomes on every project, large or small. It's the discipline you'd expect from a certified shop, applied on the job.

Potable & Food-Contact Grade

Select Polyflake® systems are formulated for food-grade and potable-water contact, making them suitable for water treatment, food processing and beverage infrastructure where surface safety matters.

Our home base

Miami, Gateway
to the Americas

From our Miami facility, Polyflake serves the entire Western Hemisphere. Located minutes from the Port of Miami and PortMiami's industrial corridor, we are positioned to mobilize rapidly for drydock emergencies, pipeline projects, and facility shutdowns throughout the Americas and Caribbean.

Our 15,000 sq ft facility houses coating preparation bays, QC laboratories, and a full workshop for shop-applied lining work, all supported by a logistics network that reaches international ports within 48 hours.

Meet Poly & Flake

A serious science, with a human face.

Poly (in the hi-vis yellow) and Flake (under the hard hat) are how we make a highly technical field approachable. Behind the friendly characters is three decades of in-house glass-flake formulation and a team of experienced application engineers working to recognised NACE/SSPC standards. That's the same discipline we bring to every hull, tank and pipeline we protect.
